Allegory of the Cve Sonnet

Living so silently in the shadows
Too blind and frightened to pursue the truth
Their ignorance is pathetic and it shows
Until one day a young and reckless youth

Breaks free from the influenced shackles
Leaving him to follow the bright sunlight
Perceptive takes over as his eyes sparkle
Now a guide to bring all the gift of light

We must adapt to the reality
That was found outside the shadowy cave
He wants to share its practicality
Without the truth all lives are left to slave

Leaving the cave was no minor mistake
Knowledge is power that we need to awake

  1. Great job Troy! You descibed the literal and theoretical meaning of the allegory in your sonnet and I like the rhyme scheme! :)
